My cranberry sauce 2022 to the present:
I used 2 bags organic cranberries (12 oz. each). I put the cranberries in a pot and added 1 ½ cups of sugar and 1 cup of water. I added 1 large apple peeled and cut into really small pieces and the juice from a large navel orange. I simmered with top off until cranberries started to pop. I stirred and smooshed the cranberries into the side of the pot with a spoon. I continued simmering over low heat until the mixture started jelling. I took off the stove and let cool outside- covered. Then when it was cool enough, I transferred the bowl to fridge.
Optional- Add about ¾ cup of chopped walnuts and about ¾ of a can of crushed and drained very well crushed pineapple.
November 24th, 2020- Half Recipe
I halved the above recipe since it was just us Benji, Titi, and I due to covid 19-
1 bag 12 oz. fresh cranberries ( i had frozen to keep fresh) , ¾ cup sugar, 1 small apple peeled, cut up into small pieces, about 2 T orange juice, and ½ cup water. Bring to a simmer, smoosh cranberries and apples against side, simmer a few minutes till thickens and refrigerate.
