My daughter Randi and her husband Dan are healthy eaters. They use as many organic products as possible in their cooking and they are vegetarians. They do eat seafood and fish, though.   • 1 pound extra large fresh or frozen raw shrimp
  • 1 pint whole grape tomatoes or cherry tomatoes
  • 2-4 ounces of good feta cheese, which you break into small pieces
  • 5-6 garlic cloves, minced (sliced very thinly)
  • 1 fresh lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • fresh parsley (chop 1/2 cup – 1/4 cup + 1/4 cup and set aside)

  • freshly ground black pepper
  • light or extra virgin olive oil, depending upon your preference
  • 1/2 pound spaghetti or penne for serving (rice can be substitued)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet. Add minced garlic cloves

and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, and saute over a medium flame

just for 1 minute. Add tomatoes. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon kosher salt

and a few grinds of black pepper. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped fresh

parsley. Saute until tomatoes just start to look soft and are beginning to

crack- about 3-4 minutes. Then, add shrimp and cook over a medium to

high heat for 5 minutes just until shrimp are starting to NOT look raw.

Take off stove. Pour everything in pan into an oven proof casserole dish.

Then sprinkle the 2-4 ounces of feta cheese, depending upon how much

cheese you want in the dish, on top. Bake for 10 minutes. Take out of oven

and sprinkle with another 1/4 cup of fresh chopped parsley, 2 tablespoons

of fresh lemon juice and some additional cracked pepper.

Serve over pasta or rice.

Note: I recommend that you serve this over spaghetti or rice. The presentation looks best when you place a portion of spaghetti or penne on each dinner plate, and then spoon one portion of shrimp with tomatoes and feta on top of the pasta. I do not recommend that you mix the spaghetti all together with the shrimp. Learn How To Make This Versatile Recipe For Chicken Cutlets That Can Be Used In Many Chicken Dishes!

I make these chicken cutlets all the time. They are so easy to make, and they are so delicious! I always have a few packages of thin sliced Purdue cutlets on hand in my freezer. When I get home from work, I take a package out out of the freezer and put it in a pan of cold water. In about 1/2 hour, the chicken cutlets are ready to use. You can serve the cutlets plain, or you can turn the recipe into chicken parmesan or chicken marsala or chicken with lemon sauce. I usually serve the cutlets plain with some homemade marinara sauce on the side. That way, I’m not adding too many extra calories.

  • 1 pound of thin sliced chicken cutlets (I use Purdue)
  • plain breadcrumbs or Italian bread crumbs
  • kosher salt

  • 1 extra large egg
  • oil for frying, such as light olive oil

In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix 1 egg with 1 teaspoon of water. Set aside. On a large plate, put some breadcrumbs. If they are plain breadcrumbs, season with salt and pepper. Then what I do at that point is change the oven setting to broil, and then I make sure that my oven rack is in the middle of the oven, and I watch the cutlets carefully. The cheese will get bubbly and browned, and then I take the cutlets out after only another 2 or 3 minutes. My favorite pizza in the world is Ledo’s pizza- and I’m talking about the original Ledo’s in Adelphi, Maryland. I graduated from the University of Maryland in College Park in 1977. Last summer, I made this pizza for my son-in-law’s father, Mike Greenhouse and his wife Leah, and they loved it. Leah said it was the best pizza she had ever eaten. What a compliment!

for the crust: (This recipe makes 2 rectangular pies- thin crust- each about 16 by 10 inches but you can make 2 round pizzas as well)

  • 1 3/4 cup unbleached flour, plus extra for when you knead the dough
  • 3/4 cup warm water, 105 to 115 degrees
  • 1 package of Fleischmann’s active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon of light olive oil (you may substitute any oil)
  • cornmeal (optional) for baking the pizza

for the marinara sauce (This recipe makes about 4 quarts of sauce, and you will need about 1 cup of sauce for each pie you make, so you can stick replique montres de luxe the rest in containers in the freezer):

  • about 1/4 – 1/2 cup of light or extra virgin olive oil
  • 4- 28 oz. cans of plum tomatoes in thick puree, or 4- 28 oz. cans of crushed tomatoes

  • about 4-6 cloves of fresh garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium-large onion, chopped very finely in processor or by hand (if you like your sauce smooth, then pulse the onion in the processor until it is the consistency of applesauce)
  • red pepper flakes
  • kosher salt
  • fresh cracked black pepper

for the topping:

  • dried oregano -optional
  • red pepper flakes- optional
  • 8 oz grated mozzarella cheese for each pie (16 oz. for 2 pies)
  • about 8 oz of marinara sauce

to make the dough:

Measure 1 3/4 cup flour and 1 teaspoon kosher salt in a large mixing bowl; set aside.

Measure 3/4 cup of hot water in a Pyrex measuring cup. Put a thermometer in, and when the temperature goes down to between 105 degrees and 115 degrees, sprinkle the package of dry yeast in. Add the 1 teaspoon sugar, and the 1 tablespoon of oil. Stir with a fork just to mix. Let sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy on the surface of the water.

Pour the water, yeast, oil, and sugar mixture into the mixing bowl with the flour and salt. Gently fold the liquid into the dry ingredients using a rubber spatula. When it is fully incorporated, dump the dough onto a floured board, counter, or table. Knead for about 7-10 minutes, adding a little flour to the board if the dough starts to stick or if your dough is too wet. You will know you can stop kneading when you push your finger into the dough lightly and the indentation disappears. Another indication you have kneaded the dough enough is when you notice that the dough has become harder to knead because it is becoming too springy. Place the dough in a large, clean mixing bowl that you have lightly greased with oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Put it in a warm spot in your kitchen. Let it double in size- which it does in about an hour to an hour and a half. If your kitchen isn’t warm enough, it may take about 2 hours for the dough to double in size.

Then dump the dough onto a floured board. Turn it once on the floured board, and then pat it down to deflate it. Cut the dough into 2 equal pieces. Wrap individually in plastic wrap, and place in a Ziploc bag. Refrigerate the dough until you are ready to make your pizza. You can use the dough up to one day after you make it.

to make the marinara sauce:

Pour about 1/4 cup of olive oil in the bottom of a heavy pot. Sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes in the oil. Saute for 1 minute. Add the finely chopped onion. Saute until translucent. Then add the crushed garlic. Saute for one minute more. If you are using whole canned tomatoes, put them in the bowl of the food processor fitted with the metal blade (reserving the juice or puree in the can), and pulse the tomatoes until they are almost pureed, but still have a little consistency to them. Add the tomatoes and reserved juice or puree in the cans to the pot. If you are using cans of crushed tomatoes, add all the the pot. Add the 1 can of tomato paste. Add kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste. Stir well. Simmer covered over a low flame for about 1 hour. Add about 1 teaspoon of sugar and a light sprinkling of herbes de provence or Italian seasoning. Simmer covered another 1/2 hour to hour, tasting and stirring every 15 minutes or so. Adjust seasonings -salt, pepper, red pepper flakes to your liking.

to assemble the pizza:

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Put a large piece of parchment paper on a sturdy cookie sheet or half sheet pan. Sprinkle the parchment paper lightly with some yellow cornmeal. Take one of your pizza doughs out of the refrigerator. Sprinkle some flour on a board or your counter. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out so that it is a rectangle, about 13 to 16 inches by 9 to 12 inches. Then spoon about 1 cup or so of sauce so that it covers the whole surface, going as close to the edges as possible. Then sprinkle dried oregano (optional) over the sauce. If you like your pizza a little hotter, sprinkle a few red pepper flakes over the sauce. Then, sprinkle about 8 oz. of grated mozzarella cheese over the sauce, going as close to the edges as possible. Place on low rack in the preheated oven. Bake about 15 minutes. If you like your pizza a little more well done, cook it a few minutes more. Use a pizza cutter to slice the pizza into squares or rectangles and serve immediately.

When I was growing up, this was one of my mother’s standard dinners.  It was healthy and delicious, and I loved it.  Even though I have some really good recipes for making flounder, this old standby is still my favorite recipe for flounder.  My kids like it too which is great, because it is really healthy.  This flounder has plenty of good flavor, without using any salt!  You can serve this with a baked potato, spinach, and a salad.  Another great side that goes with this is homemade macaroni and cheese casserole, or in a pinch, some Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. 

Four 2 people:

  • 1 pound fresh flounder fillets
  • about 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • paprika

  • 2 pounds of good chop meat – I use 85% lean
  • 2 tablespoons Lipton’s onion soup mix
  • 8 ounces unsweetened applesauce

I wanted to come up with another quick and healthy recipe for salmon. I am always looking for very tasty ways to make salmon, because I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet, but most my recipes are slightly on the high calorie side. I need to throw in an occasional healthy dinner, don’t I? When I think of healthy eating, I think of my Aunt Sally and my Uncle Nat.  They are in their mid 80’s. If you saw them, you would NEVER believe that. I am not kidding, both of them look and act no older than 65 years old. Just to give you one example of their youthfulness, My Aunt Sally still regularly goes skiing with her grandchildren up in Vermont.  My Uncle Nat doesn’t ski anymore, but he does a pretty good job of trying to keep basketball trøye NBA up with my aunt.  He works out on his gym equipment every day, and I think he still plays some tennis.   I have asked my uncle many times about the secret to their good health and youthful appearance.  My uncle has told me flat out, “It’s our diet.”  And they have maintained a really healthy diet for probably the last 40 years.   One of the main components of their diet is salmon. My aunt cooks salmon for dinner probably 3 times a week. So, I have this little voice in the back of my head that is always saying, “You should be eating more like your Aunt Sally and Uncle Nat. You should be eating salmon 3 times a week like they do.” Unfortunately, I usually don’t pay enough attention to that little voice. But, I did make salmon two nights ago for my son Danny and myself. Danny really likes this recipe. What makes this recipe for salmon even healthier is that there is no salt in it at all. Yet, it is still very tasty. It takes less than five minutes to get this dish ready to cook and about 10 minutes to cook it. So between prep time and cooking time, you will be ready to eat in less than 20 minutes. Enjoy!

For 2 people:

  • 1 pound of salmon filet

  • 1 loaf of Italian bread
  • one stick of Fleischmann’s margarine or 1 stick of butter at room temperature

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 

Slice the bread once horizontally all the way through so that you have 2 halves.  Then spread a good amount of margarine or butter on each cut side of the bread.  Then sprinkle each side heavily with garlic powder.  Put the bread back together again.  Wrap the bread up in heavy-duty aluminum foil.  Make sure that you use a big enough piece of foil.  Place the bread right in the center of the foil.  Then bring up the foil on each side of the bread so that you can close the foil at the top of the bread.  This way, none of the margarine or butter can leak out of the aluminum foil package as it is baking.  Bake about 30-45 minutes until the bread is starting to get crunchy on the bottom. (I always check the bread after about 25 minutes to see if it is getting too brown.)  When it is done, take it out of the aluminum foil, and cut slices, and serve.

Variation for cheesy mozzarella garlic bread: 

After garlic bread has been cooking for about 30 minutes, take it out of the oven.  Unwrap it from the foil.  Then lay both sides cut side up on a half sheet pan or a cookie sheet that you have covered with foil.  Then sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese over the tops.  Use about 1- 8 oz. bag of grated whole milk mozzarella altogether- 4 oz. on each side.  Put back in the oven on a middle rack, and put the oven on broil.  Open the oven door after about 5 minutes.  What you want is to see the mozzarella cheese browning in little spots and bubbling.  It is done when it has those little brown spots all over.  Watch carefully to make sure the cheese doesn’t start to  burn.  Take out and serve when the cheese is browned and bubbly after about 5-7 minutes.Generic Tadalafil India, Tadalafil Online Prices. Aunt Sally’s Amazing Garlic Toast

This is my Aunt Sally’s famous garlic bread recipe that she always made to go with her delicious spaghetti with meat sauce. My cousin Janie (Sally’s daughter) makes this as well. I never formally asked for this recipe, but I watched my aunt and my cousin while they made this, so I’m reasonably sure this recipe is accurate. In Janie’s house, this garlic bread is a staple, because Janie still serves her spaghetti and meat sauce once a week (it is her family’s absolute favorite meal), and what good is spaghetti and meat sauce without garlic bread to go with it?   • One loaf of Italian bread (or 2 loaves)
  • at least 2 sticks of margarine or butter, melted
  • lots of garlic powder (use a good brand such as McKormick)

Healthy and Delicious Vegetable Frittata

This Frittata Is As Good As Quiche But Easier To Make And Healthier Too!

My mother and I were invited over to our friend Sherill Kobb’s house yesterday for lunch.  Sherill is an amazing cook and baker, and a wonderful person.  So between just spending time with Sherill and eating her amazing food, I was in seventh heaven.  It was such a treat for me to enjoy someone else’s cooking for a change.  I felt like a princess, because Sherill is such a gracious hostess, and she really makes her guests feel special.  Well, Sherill prepared a delicious feast which was as appealing aesthetically as it was gastronomically.  She started with French onion soup that was incredible, then she served this vegetable frittata along with a beautiful salad with goat cheese and her homemade mustard and white wine vinaigrette, and then she served a delicious apple cake and coffee for dessert.  What a treat!  

  • 5 extra large or jumbo eggs

  • 1 heavy tablespoon of sour cream (adds richness and tanginess, but you don’t have to use it)
  • 1 large red bell pepper
  • about 8 spears of fresh asparagus
  • about 4 green onions or scallions, yellow and white part

  • about 3 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan or Romano cheese

  • freshly ground pepper
  • about 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 

Snap off the woody ends of the asparagus.  Then cut the asparagus into bite size pieces, about 1-1 1/2 inches long. Blanch the asparagus in boiling water until crisp-tender about 2-5 minutes depending upon the thickness of the asparagus.  Drain the asparagus and then run under cold water to stop the cooking.

Dice the red pepper into about 1/2 inch pieces.  Chop the scallions on the diagonal into pieces about 1/2 inch in length.  Melt the butter with the oil in a non-stick saute pan that measures approximately 8 inches across the bottom and 10 inches across the top of the pan.  Make sure you swirl the butter and oil around so the sides of the pan get coated as well.  Then saute the red pepper and scallions (season with a little salt and pepper) for about 3 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.  Turn heat off and take off stove, and set aside. 

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the whole eggs and the egg whites.  Add a pinch of the kosher salt and about 6 turns of freshly ground black pepper.  Add the tablespoon of sour cream if you are using it and whisk. (You will still see the sour cream in the eggs, and that is ok.)  Set aside.

Add the parsley and the asparagus to the sauteed red pepper and scallions in the pan.  Mix together gently.  Place back on the stove over a medium flame.  Pour the eggs into the pan.  Then sprinkle the grated Parmesan or Romano cheese on top.  As the eggs begin to cook along the outer edge, lift up the cooked part so that the raw eggs can slide under.  Do this until the eggs are pretty cooked around the edges but still uncooked on top.  Slide the pan into the preheated oven and cook for about another 5 minutes or until eggs are no longer raw looking on top and the eggs are just set.  Frittata should be a little browned and puffy around the edges.  If you like your eggs more well done and browned on top, put your oven on broil, and cook for maybe one-two minutes at most, watching very carefully.  When you take the frittata out of the oven, it will continue to cook, so be careful not to overcook this.   

Loosen the edges of the frittata with a spatula, and then slide it onto a  10 inch round serving plate.  If you don’t have a big enough serving platter, then bring the frittata to the table in the saute pan, slice it, and serve it right out of the pan. 

Note:  You may use any combination of vegetables that that you like.  You might use sauteed mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach to name a few.  You may also substitute grated cheddar, swiss, or gruyere cheese for the Parmesan or Romano, but the fresh Parmesan or Romano gives the frittata a great tangy flavor without adding too many calories!     When you need to buy sildenafil online without prescription?
